This is a very nice original Lotus Europa. This car has been stored in a garage for years and needs to be recommissioned to get it back on the road. It was running when parked and the engine easily turns. I havn't done any work to it since buying it last year but I would think it would need the typical things that a car that has sat for a period of time would need-gas tank cleaned, carb rebuilt, possible work on brakes, wheel cylinders, clutch, etc. It looks like it could use a new muffler. I believe it would be fairly easy to get this car back on the road. This car has the original Renault engine and 4 speed transmission. I have the original owners repair manual. Looking underneath the car at the backbone chassis I don't see any rust. The front suspension and pan has minor surface rust that you would expect on any car of this age and further back it looks clean as a whistle. NO rust thru at all.
It appears to have been originally red and was repainted black many years ago. It has the groovy Cosmic wheels, a very nice period correct accessory. . These Lotus Europa's were one of the first mid engined cars ever produced. They are very light (under 1500 lbs) street legal race cars. I'm clearing out some of my excess projects. I have a clear title on the car and can help with shipping or export.
