Selling my 1991 Lotus Elan M100 convertible. I have owned the car for roughly two years. This is my third M100. I absolutely love these cars as they can driven regularly, they are reliable, and quick for a 4 cylinder. I have put roughly 1, 000 miles on it each year. This is a rare Lotus with roughly 550 sold in the states in 1991. It has a collector car registration for NJ. The turbo is very strong, brakes well, clutch and gears are smooth. The car is mostly stock with the exception of a recent paint job, muffler, and rim/tire upgrade. It is driven throughout the year. Interior is presentable and clean but not perfect. If you are local I encourage you to come see it in person and take it for a spin. It recently received the following:
Recent service with Synthetic oil and K&N oil filter
Ignition module
Coil packs
Light weight 17' Team Dynamic rims (I have a fifth rim as an extra with no rubber)
Air filter conversion ( I have the stock air box which can easily be switched back)
MSD plugs
New radio
Custom Lotus hood liner
Lotus floor mats
Short shifter (I have the original shifter which screws back on)
Car was painted Calypso Red (original color) one year ago
Aftermarket muffler
All lights are in working order
Front lip spoiler
Here are a few items that I wanted to address this Spring but will leave it up to the new owner:
I recently cracked the left side mirror. It stays put but would need to be replaced
Could use A and B pillar seals
AC needs to be charged
Top is in good shape but has a small crack in the plastic window which is about an inch long
The turbo, battery, and oil pressure gauge/cluster is not workingHorn doesn't work ( I have a new one)
Power windows work but need adjusting
I have a bin with extra parts that goes with the car. It is a driver, very presentable, but not perfect. It needs additional TLC to get it to the next level. These cars are bullet proof and easy to drive. The stock Isuzu engine is reliable and can be used as a daily driver unlike my Esprit. Parts are easy to find and not overly expensive.
