The Lotus Europa is considered by many Lotus enthusiasts as the ultimate expression of Colin Chapman's design philosophy as applied to a road car. The S2 cars featured a punchy 1.5L 4 cylinder engine which could motivate the sub 1, 600 lb car briskly. The unique exterior design had a very low drag coefficient of only 0.29 while retaining a very comfortable passenger cabin. Like the Elan before it and the Esprit after it, the Europa utilized the classic steel backbone chassis which provided a very stiff foundation from which the suspension wizards at Hethel extracted phenomenal handling from the car.

Three year professional frame off restoration, PowerSlide MotorSports in Jackson NJ
The frame was restored & painted, all mechanical components replaced or refurbished. The engine and Transmission was freshened. All components of the brakes were re done including the brake lines, master cylinder calipers, pads, rotors, and fittings. New light weight fly wheel and clutch installed. Electrical system gone through and updated; new optical ignition, alternator, master relay, and gauges. Light bulbs updated to LEDs including the headlights. Suspension was redone including 4 new shocks and springs. Every bushing replaced. New frame padding. Shift linkage was redone and refitted, all new bushings. I have successfully sold this car twice, The first time three weeks ago, the winning bidder was a factious account, and the second time, last week, the buyer was real but a deadbeat, I have relisted the car with an 11k reserve. This car is the best example, mechanically, S2 in the states. The only negative of the car is the vinyl wrap. It should be painted and the buy it now price, and two previous winning bids reflect this price savings. The car can be a daily driver and is up to demands of track or autox.
