Lotus Super Seven (1974)
for sale

Price: US $20,000.00
This auction is for a very rare authentic California Lotus
Super Seven. What a blast this car is to drive. It was fully restored and expertly modified over 35 years ago and it is
just as quick today, as it was then. The rear arches were professionally widened
2 inches to give such a great look. The engine was built by renowned Lotus engine builder Dave Vegher and it
is a testament to his work as it still performs extremely well. It has had only
two owners over the last 35 years and comes with a complete folder of history, invoices and articles. The original owner was a true enthusiast and took great
car of the car always garaged and pampered. Recently it has had new rear
brakes, slave cylinder, and is fully serviced ready to drive.
Starting easily
from cold it fires up with an awesome sound that just makes you smile, mostly
because you know how much fun you are about to have! It settles down to a nice
idle showing excellent oil pressure and it does not overheat. All the gauges, lights, horn work correctly. The indicators flash very quickly and probably
need a new flasher unit but they do self cancel. The car stops very well with
the twin boosters fitted and the parking brake will hold even on a steep
incline. The car pulls left slightly and could probably use an alignment, but the steering is quick and accurate as you would expect. The 4 speed ford box is a delight as always shifting smoothly up and down without issue. The bodywork
is in very good condition showing a few blemishes typical of 35 year old paint.
No significant cracking or crazing of the fibreglass is evident. The paint behind the gas filler has reacted from coming into contact with gas over the years, but is not lifting or flaking off. The drivers’ side entry area has been touched up and still has some wear from
getting in and out.
It also comes equipped with a
very sharp looking full tonneau cover (one tennax snap missing) that matches
the black interior which looks fantastic and compliments the car
perfectly. There is also a half tonneau that covers the rear storage area.
It sits on period Revolution Alloys and Hoosier rubber, 205/60’s in the
back, and 185/60’s on the front.
This Lotus Super Seven turns heads with its vintage Lotus racing colors.
As far as the
rest of the car the pictures speak for themselves, a truly spectacular example
of a well sorted work of
automotive
art.
