CommentsThe GranTurismo has something that the BMW 6-Series and the Jaguar XKR don't - two back seats with enough space to for actual standard-sized humans. As does the Mercedes CL550, but the GranTurismo boast a 0-to-60-mph in a time of just 5.2 seconds, being 0.2 second quicker than the Merecedes-Benz CL550.
This Maserati flaunts a dazzling burgundy exterior paint job with a color combination for every surface of the car. The rich leather covers the seats, dashboard and steering wheel. As well as a dark walnut high gloss wooden trim to the steering wheel, gear shift, and all around trim. Many of the controls are detailed with a high shine alloy including the steering wheel controls, center analog clock and several Maserati symbols conveniently located for maximum glaze.
This Granturismo is based on a shortened model of the Quattroporte. However in the coupe, the engine control has been tweaked for more horsepower, and the six speed automatic transmission communicates directly with the electronic throttle for faster shifts and quicker responses. Hidden just under the shift paddles is a tiny strip of leather to remind the driver that this is a special ride. The Pininfarina-designed sheetmetal wraps and bends around the cars body with memorizing style. The ride is enchanting as a $114, 650 base price automobile should be. A top speed of 177 miles per hour, the rear wheel drive is never over powered by torque as the handling is firm and the transmission shifts smoothly.
