We are proud to offer this beautiful 2002 Maserati Cambiocorsa Spyder! This vehicle has 61, 095 miles exactly and may go up slightly as it is occasionally driven to keep fluids running through it and the battery charged. The car runs and drives very well and recently has had a lot of maintenance completed. Below is a list of the repairs I have records for..
Synthetic oil change
Antifreeze flush
New Radiator
F1 transmission pump and relay
New AC compressor
New fuel pump
Evac and recharge with R-134A
New F1 transmission clutch and clutch bearing
The exterior of the car really is in excellent shape and the paint work does appear to be original without any major defects or damage. There are your typical rock chips mostly on the rear quarter panels just forward of the rear wheels. Common for these cars. The top has two patches on it... one on each side of the car just above the door window. The rear top window has seen its better days. It is serviceable without cracks tears or leaks, however it is faded and would look better if the window were replaced. The tires are in excellent shape and have in my opinion 70-75% service life left if not more.
The interior of the car is in very good shape, especially the seats. No real wear on the seat bolsters and the carpet is excellent. The glass is all in good shape as well. The cars stereo buttons and other associated buttons seem to have had the material come off so it can be difficult to figure out which button is for what initially. At this time the convertible top has not been working automatically and the dealer had to manually actuate the top when they ran tests on it. Here is a brief description as to what they said. Performed function test of the top and found INOP. Performed SD2 test and found SD2 would not talk to the top ECU. Performed fuse test and found fuse blown in passenger floor board for the tonneau latches. Replaced fuse and top was still INOP. Had to put top down manually. Found multiple top trim pieces broken. Found there to be no top ECU in car. Found 2 of the man rams to be off and loose. Found the tonneau latch motor to be broken. top needs multiple repairs.
Since that time we have put a top ECU in the car and other associated components in an attempt to get the top working again but have been unsuccessful. At this point we will be selling the vehicle with the top inoperative. You can manually actuate the top, but I do not know how it works. The dealer did it, but we were not around when that testing was done.
Mechanically the car is sound. It starts right up and drives around well. Transmission shifts as it should and there are no unusual rattles or noises. This is a 14 year old car so normal wear and tear is to be expected. This is definitely a drivers car. The only other issue I can think of that I know about the vehicle is the air conditioning blender is acting up. The AC will blow cold on one side, and not the other. It will switch back and forth between sides. This needs to be addressed to complete all the air conditioning repairs that someone previously began addressing. There is no check engine light on and never has been. There is a light on the dash for the top, but as previously stated the top needs some repairs to work automatically again.
In light of all this I will begin this auction without a reserve. Of course all sales are final and the vehicle will be sold as is where is and with a clean lien free title. I do have all records available for viewing for all repairs stated above. Many of which were completed at a Maserati dealer.
