Mazda Miata MX-5 for sale. The car is a 2002 and has the rare Special Edition (SE) limited production option. Only 1, 491 were built. The SE package comes with the following items: An alarm system integrated into the key fob. Upgraded leather interior including Nardi leather wrapped steering wheel, chrome gas cap, Bose radio / CD changer with power antenna, larger diameter disc brakes, Emkei 16 wheels and Bridgestone Potenza 205 /45 R16 tires, and different white faced gauges. The car has cruise control, a glass, not plastic, rear window with defrost, power side mirrors, power steering, power windows, power door locks and the optional 6 speed manual transmission. The A/C blows cold and hard. It has the ABS power brake option. Not all Miata’s have ABS. The car has 69, 700 miles comes with a car cover. This vehicle is very clean inside and out including the engine compartment. There are no driveline leaks. The brake pads and tire life remaining are good. No mechanical issues that I am aware of. 1.8 four cylinder engine.
Modifications include a KOYO 37mm aluminum high performance radiator. Performance aftermarket exhaust. K & N air intake. Performance shocks: FM V-Maxx XXtreme Stage 2 Sport package with adjustable coilovers with a set of FM Performance sway bars, front and rear. Hard Dog Sport roll bar with leather pad. Front tow hook. All these items were just put on about 800 miles ago. I modified the driver’s seat cushion lowering it about 1, and removed the driver's inside door rest (still have it if you want to put it back on). I am 6’2” and these modifications fit me better. I set the car up this way with the intention of occasionally tracking it in amateur HYDE events but I only have 1 event under my belt 13 months ago that included 3 - 10 minute track runs on a 2 mile course. The car just sits under a car cover in my garage on a battery tender when not in use. It was purchased as a weekend pleasure only vehicle. Turns out I just don’t have the time for the track events but I do take it out for pleasure drives on occasion. You can drive this car as a daily driver or set out for some weekend fun – it’s ready to go. No dents, no rust. Only very minor body paint imperfections. You can see the car has about $3000 + in modifications and I have already reduced the price accordingly due to the salvaged title. I installed everything so double the $3, 000 if you paid a mechanic to install everything. My loss is your gain. The car needs nothing to drive on the street or amateur track events. There are no engine modifications.
The negatives. There is a smaller than a dime sized rip on the passenger side of the convertible top. It's patched on the inside so there are no leaks. The Bose radio doesn't display all the numbers and letters but otherwise works fine. There is a salvaged title on the car for a sideswipe that occurred in August 2011 before I acquired the car. There was no frame damage, just fenders and door skin damage and paint. I have no other information or photos to share or show. It doesn't take much for an insurance company to write off these 13 year old cars. The second key fob is broken but can be replaced - I just never got around to doing it. I do have a spare key.
