This 1993 is in great condition. Engine, trans, clutch, brakes, steering all in excellent shape. This manual 5-speed runs strong with 223, 000 miles, and well taken care of. New clutch, and drive shaft/trans bearings recently replaced.
New convertible top, no cuts or tears, back window NOT faded. Brand new SONY stereo (I have original radio/cassette if you want it), new roll bar (not installed), boot cover and shift knob, newer tires, and much more. Non-smoker car, seats are comfortable for long or short trips.One small tear in driver's seat cushion on door side seam, but new seat covers and new dash cover (no cracks) keep this all original interior classic in excellent condition.
This was the last year of this model engine (1.6L and went to 1.8L in 1994). The original MX-5 came with a 1.6 L (98 cu in) dual overhead cam inline four-cylinder engine, producing 86 kW (115 bhp) at 6, 500 rpm, and 136 N·m (100 lbf·ft) of torque at 5, 500 rpm. The engine employs an electronic fuel injection system using a vane-type air flow meter and an electronic ignition system with a camshaft angle sensor instead of a distributor. This engine was specifically designed for the MX-5 and featured a lightened crankshaft, flywheel, and aluminum sump with cooling fins. Comes with classic pop-up headlights, and I have the teeth smile and eyelashes for the headlights if you want to put them on too. This makes a great get-around car and is great on mileage.
Here's one that was taken really good car of and garage kept for most of it's life. These cars often are flipped and destroyed because it's such a fun sports car and easy to drive fast. New paint (exterior), has couple of VERY SMALL dings in body, but no major dents or damage. Have CarFax shows no damage or accidents. I'm second owner. I bought it from Charity Auction as Limited Edition - 1 Owner w/ Carfax Certification. Fixed and painted it, and was using it for 45 min. travel to work to save on gas, but don't do that anymore. It had 212, 138 miles on it when I bought it a year ago. Now, just crossed 223, 000 miles.
