Up for sale is my 90 Rx7. 186k miles 5 speed. Car runs and drives great but does have a few issues. Interior is very clean and original. The whole car is a prime example of a true unmolested rx7. Everything is stock other than the catback. It does have a deeper rumble than factory. Black leather interior. Everything works inside the car, all lights, sunroof works with just a little nudge to get it open, then slides back and closes under its own power. The wiper switch has the common issue like they all do. Its starting to go and needs to be shut off when the wipers are down by the cowl. The drivers seat does have some wear and a little rip on the bolster but still nice for being original with 186k miles.
Exterior has been painted in a single stage paint which does have some flaws but shines up great. It has nicks and spots in areas, and a few dings. No dents or rust on the body.
The floor pans have rust in them. I have removed all the loose rust and there are now holes that need to be patched. please see pictures.
Onto the engine, I have no idea whether the engine is original or not. It starts right up when ice cold or hot. It has never flooded since ive owned it. I believe it needs the TPS cleaned or adjusted. It will sometimes get a pulsing idle and other times it idles perfect. The car also doesn't want to go past 7k rpm. It kind of hits a wall, I was told by rotary people that it has to do with the TPS. The motor is strong. The trans will grind when slamming into second gear, only happens if really shifting fast. Normal driving conditions the trans shifts great.
Anybody that knows the cars understands how hard it is to find unmolested S5 rx7s. They are getting harder and harder to find in this shape.
Comes with the extremely hard to find rear cargo divider.
In the past 200 miles I have done:
Full exhaust from the header back (new cats)
new fuel filter
Tune up with NGK plugs and wires
Oil and filter with Castrol
new trans fluid with REDLINE
NOTE: the car will NOT be sold with the turbo II wheels. An aftermarket set of 15 wheels with tires is going with the car as well as the factory 15 wheels. (wheels only)
