Up for Auction is a 1958 Mercedes Benz 220S Ponton with a Webasto Roof, the car is in need of completing the restoration in regard to paint and interior. Mechanically - ready to go. A one year restoration has been underway for everything else. Car has been kept in storage or garaged all of its life.

I purchased it 15 years ago from family who owned it for 30+ years. I have a small collection of Mercedes Benz's and this one I brought out storage last year and had a mechanic/shop start the restoration. All the work was being done at our home in one of the garages, so I was able to watch and tinker, etc. Thousands of dollars later and many personal hours of my own time a family situation has brought this project to a halt. I cannot finish it. Car is complete. A couple of sets of Wood come with it. All of the Chrome is included. A few pieces of trim will need to be hunted down. Glass is good. LITTLE or NO RUST. Would not have ever purchased it if that were the case.
The engine was completely checked out. It did not need a re-build. Compression checks were solid on all cylinders. No burning of oil. New brake system on all four corners. New brake lines, rebuilt master cylinder. Transmission flushed. Rear-end drained and redone. Entire drive train checks out. New exhaust. Original carburetors completely tore down and rebuilt. All new fuel lines replaced where necessary. Fuel tank was pulled and boiled out, coated and re-installed. Hoses, lines, wiring - been replaced where needed. Car has two coats of paint. Original color was a silver-metallic blue. The Webasto frame is all intact. Radiator cleaned, repaired and pressure tested. Front and rear suspension are in great shape. Two sets of wood. Complete tune-up. Throttle cables and choke redone. Clutch is perfect. Shifts excellent through all gears. No popping out. Car has set idling for at least 30 minutes and did not overheat.
Deposit required by Paypal and the rest of the payment will be required in person and or money order or direct bank transfer. The car will not be shipped with no payment. Buyer is responsible for shipping.
