Up for auction is my beautiful 1978 280se Mercedes Benz. This car has been in my family for its entire 38 years. This is a Southern California car and has no rust. It has been garaged for its entire life. I have owned the car for the past seven years. The car has been a weekend driver for the last two years. Prior to that, I was commuting to work 150 miles round trip daily. The car runs on unleaded premium gas. The rear interior has recently been completely re-upholstered using OEM horsehair spring cushions and new Tex fabric. All under hood rubber components and vacuum lines have been replaced. Steering gear, battery, door seals, front window seal, fuel pump, starter, water pump, plugs, fuel lines, EGR valve, thermo vacuum switches, spark plugs and plug wires have all been replaced. Five thousand mile on this set of Kumo tires. California smog tested every three years. No modifications from original. Fuel gauge is sometimes incorrect and A/C system needs freon (R-12 banned in Cal 1991). The car was painted a lighter shade of Mercedes blue by dealer approved shop in 1982. Looking for a buyer that would appreciate this family jewel.
