I bought this ML55 for the wife back in 2008. It spent the next 6 years and 52K miles transporting kids to and from activities and the occasional family road trip. When it was time to upgrade the wife's SUV, I finally got my chance to make it my daily driver. I always thought the ML55 had a harsh ride and weak exhaust tone, so I replaced pretty much all of the suspension components and exhaust system. I believe it now has the ride quality and sound worthy of the AMG badging.
This ML55 is a blast to drive, looks great, and has room for 5 with luggage. I've truly enjoyed driving it to work everyday, but my job requires me to have a truck so its time to me to let her go.
At 100k miles I replaced:

Known issues with the ML55
A/C is not working (leak around expansion valve. I have a new valve just haven't had time to replace it)Passenger door lock actuator is broken and needs repaired ($45) or replaced ($150)Paint is chipped on right rear fender flare.Driver's mirror housing is cracked.Fuel Level Gauge is questionable. The float arm on the new fuel pump is a little too tight. I assume it will likely loosen up over time and begin to function properly. (I simply use tripometer to judge fuel level. At 285 miles, time to fill up)
The original air filter box is included in the sale.
