I am the second owner. It was purchased new by a woman who was slender and therefore the seats are in great condition, not saggy as is typical of older Mercedes seats. She shipped it from Michigan to Fort Lauder dale every winter, and hardly used it. If anything ever needed fixing she would immediately take it to her Mercedes dealer and I have all the dated receipts. I bought the car from a broker who got it from her. I've had it two years, have driven with the top down in the summer only, and store it in heated storage for six months from November to May. It has never been in the rain. I have the original Becker radio that is not included but is available. It has the original coco mats and carpets as well as the jack and lug wrench that have never been used.

It has perfect alloy wheels,(including the spare which has never been mounted), new Michelin defender tires, and a new German Hartz cloth top from the original supplier to Mercedes. Everything works as it should, including the clock and climate control system. It has a rare option of the twin back seats with rear double cushion. It has the original hardtop which is in great condition. The mechanic who recently flushed the brakes and performed a full synthetic oil change said it was the nicest one hes seen in the last 30 years. The transmission and motor work perfectly. This is the first year of the walnut dash which is in beautiful condition.The interior is gorgeous and completely original. This has got to be one of the nicest 450sl's still around. I have the original owner's manual and extensive receipts.” |
