I bought this original, California Black Tag 1950 Mercury from a guy so in love with it, that as it's second owner, he kept it 64 years. After driving it until 1970 it was parked and later transported to central Florida were it stayed in his attached garage with his wife's car leaving his daily driver out in the driveway. Age finally caught up with him and moving on from the family home, the car was offered for sale. Not wanting to lose a chance to own this icon I bought it. Now it's my turn to deal with life's realities, to little time, and to many projects. Hopefully the pictures tell the story, but in short it was driven a couple years in Pennsylvania, prior to its retirement and shows some minor lower fender rust, as well as a silver dollar size hole in the pass. floor. Overall I feel the body is way above average, and could be made turntable show worthy. Not being driven for 45 years the engine is stuck, looks like coolant got past the cooper head gaskets and into two cylinders badly rusting the bores. The car steers, rolls and has the optional overdrive. As with any purchase you should look before buying, True mileage is uncertain. I live 20 minutes from Orlando International Airport.
