This highly modified custom built 1964 Comet Mercury 25th silver anniversary edition Mercury pick up truck is a special one off vehicle. Built with just about every possible option you could order on a Comet. Built many years ago with mint factory Mercury original parts and new old box stock N.O.S. originals at the time. Body is exceptional. Rust-free inside and out, super straight and never damaged or even undercoated underneath by factory or anyone after. This is a pristine body with no Frankenstein rust repair stitches, panels or patches to lower it's value. A real nice body and a real difficult find today. A very stylish upscale pick-up as is and will only need a fresh color refinish for show. A close viewing of all pictures inside and out of vehicle (with extra parts pictured included) will show the many optional items and rare accessories used. It is loaded with fancy chrome and stainless inside and outside throughout. Time to let go after years of service for other vehicles. Was a high priority vehicle 35 years ago but is no longer today. Plates expire in August. Car and original drivetrain have over a hundred ninety two thousand miles. Engine still runs smooth and quiet with no lifter noise (sounds like a sewing machine) but is starting to show blue oil wear out back, has not been driven the last two summers plus so needs battery and brakes are soft. Original 4-speed transmission shifts very smoothly with no noise or problems and rear end is quiet with no noise. In disclosure, car was correctly converted to a mercury with amazing detail including all numbers under hood, matching door data plate, dealer tag, original registered owners manual filled in by original selling mercury dealer when new and 2 n.o.s. mercury head key's for uniformity. This custom vehicle is registered, licensed, plated and fully insured as a 1964 mercury comet. Included with complete car sale are all the original ford numbers tags and owners manual from it before conversion started. Both Colorado titles are clear and ready to transfer over to new owner upon full payment of vehicle. Owned both vehicles myself before conversion so no issues exist on either title. Kept all original ford numbers, door tag, owners manual and dealer tag to be able to put car back to the original Ford configuration if ever desired later. Just remove mercury parts and replace with ford parts. Unfortunately now exposed to elements outside unprotected with a few others after loosing their long time indoor parking spots. It needs to go. Especially now that the severe spring/summer t-storms with large hail and tornado's are back. Also open to offers to sell just the clean ranchero body with it's original running V/8 4-speed drivetrain as one unit for a lesser cost (minus all mercury parts) for anyone wanting to put the original Ford V/8 4-speed car back the way it was originally built. The deal will also come with a few parts that were saved from the parts lot such as a mint original paint ranchero hood, both mint ranchero doors and tailgate with no holes for moldings, along with all original body numbers, tags and manual mentioned earlier. All mercury parts can then be listed separately once body/running drivetrain is sold. EXTRA PARTS. .. .. ....All n.o.s. inventory and mint used stock inventory has been sold along with some items from car from first round of auction pic's after no sale. Extra stock was swapped/replaced back on car before all was purchased and went away. One complete low mile strong running Super Cyclone 289 A code 225 h/p 4-V engine was saved not pictured. It comes as a complete unit with the b/w 4-speed transmission and shifter still together as one piece and never separated to be purchased for an additional fee if desired. Would be a quick, easy swap (one for one) for the high mile original V/8 260 drivetrain now in place. The perfect power plant to give this stylish pick-up even more power and look like it belongs under the hood. Black engine, chrome dress up valve covers, dipstick, silver and chrome Cyclone air cleaner with original large Super Cyclone red white and blue air cleaner decal still affixed etc. with a (new decal to be included).
