Price: US $6,000.00
This is a 1965 Mercury Comet Cyclone 2 door hardtop. It
is an original black with a red interior 4 speed car (see door tag photo). It is a real Cyclone, not a clone and has all the
original and correct emblems and trim pieces. This car has never been raced and has been adult driven.
The engine is a rebuilt 302 with TFS iron heads, ported
and polished, Shelby Cobra single 4 barrel intake with Demon carb., mild hydraulic cam, roller rockers, Holman and
Moody valve covers, Mallory distributor with Protronics electronics added, cast
aluminum oil pan, Hooker headers with dual exhaust, Crites Performance aluminum oversize
radiator with fiberglass shroud.
The transmission is a Tremec TKO 3550 5 speed (bought new) with a
McCloed flywheel, new pressure plate, disc and release bearing.
The rear end is a Ford 9 inch with new 3:50 ring and
pinion, Traction Lock with new clutches, new brakes, air shocks, traction bars
and Lokar parking brake cables. The car has the frame rails tied together with Crites frame rail connectors.
In the front, Wilwood front disc brakes have been added
with a dual master cylinder. All brake lines, gas lines and hoses have been
replaced. The upper and lower control arms have been completely rebuilt, new
shocks, bushings and a larger sway bar have been installed.
The interior has new and correct door and rear seat
panels and kick panels with speakers, new front and rear seat belts, Autosound
radio with CD player, new dash pad (not installed), rechromed dash cluster (not
installed), brand new Vintage Air AC and
heat designed for Falcon and Comet (not installed), 8, 000 RPM Faria tach and factory radio delete plate.
The original steering wheel, horn ring, air cleaner with snorkel and windshield washer reservoir, and original hood are included. Also, brand new Carpenter Industries front windshield and rear window seals, vent window seals, rear side window seals and roof rail seals are included (not installed).
This was originally a Texas car and has never been wrecked. The body, floors and trunk are very solid (see photos). Most of the paint is original with quite a few chips and several spots where the paint flaked off and touched up. All the hard work has been done. This car needs paint to be show quality.
All the modifications made to this car have been done to make it very streetable, comfortable, dependable and quick.
Please check out all the photos of this special, very rare car and all the additional parts.
