1962 Mercury Comet

Mercury Comet (1962)
for sale

Price: US $2,500.00

Description:

My S-22 has a solid body with only minimal rust over the rear wheel openings and under the leading edge of the hood (see pictures), floor pans, structural components and window surrounds are all solid. The body is very straight with the only damage being the driver side tailfin which has been pushed in, besides that there is no sign of accident damage. I have a N.O.S. fin for the car (see picture) included. I put on new tires, rubber brake hoses/wheel cylinders and it runs well, tranny works fine. Paint was re-sprayed once well before I bought it and is weathered. Interior is complete but has come apart at the seams due to the sun. All glass is in good condition except for the windshield which is cracked. All of the original S-22 items are intact and in good condition. I purchased the car in 2011 at the San Diego Big 3 Auto Swap Meet (where I am also a vender) from a fellow that claimed to have bought it from the original owner in the Riverside area. The car appears to be mechanically original, the wiring has not been cut up/spliced etc., the original rubber brake lines were still on the car. This is a great restoration opportunity, which is why I bought it. However, I no longer have the time or resources to complete it.
