Description:

1969 Mercury Cougar Convertible
This is a beautiful 69 Cougar Convertible. Restored back to the original factory Light Aqua (M3191A) color with a blue pearl clear coat over it. We really spared no expense in restoring this car. Virtually every thing has been replaced or refurbished. The paint is less than a year old, as are the rims and tires. Runs, drives, stops and starts flawlessly. Starts the first time every time. We take it on 2 hour trips frequently, very dependable and a huge joy to drive. Turns every head it passes and everyone wants to talk to you about it.
If you don't like talking to strangers and hearing how much they like your car, then this is NOT the car for you!
So some details then on what I can remember has been done:
New paint, factory color with Pearl clear
New convertible top and rear window
New front reupholstered seats
New radio
New side lower trim panels (actually from a 68, but looked better to us).
New wheel well chrome trim pieces
New convertible top trim, polished stainless steel
New Mallory electronic ignition and distributer
New 17 rims and tires
Engine was rebuilt some time ago, not sure at what mileage, that was done before we bought it, but it runs well and very smoothly. Has headers and 2bbl carb. I am not sure if it is the actual same motor but car is a 351w code and that's what is in it. Sequencing tail lights work fine, headlights rotate perfectly, all lights work, even the map light. Console was replaced with a custom wood console, and I like it better than the original. All gauges work, even the factory temp gauge. Heat works, vent works, fan works. This is not an AC car. There is bondo in the body, but its been done professionally. Floor pans are solid, trunk is solid, frame is solid.
I cant really say anything negative about the car, if I had to point out flaws, I'd say the door glass is probably a little loose as it rattles a bit when idling. The turn signal switch is a little soft as you sometimes have to push the lever up a bit to get it to turn off. After the paint job someone scraped the right corner of the lower rear valance panel on something and there are probably a spot or 2 that could be touched up in the paint. That would be it.
Any questions please feel free to ask.
