289 C.I. 4-BBL ENGINE - C4 AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION
This 1967 Cougar has been mine since 1992. Although she needs some work, I still get people come to the door to see if I'm selling it. Has a 289 that was worked over about 15 years ago. Still starts up on first turn. Odometer says 79789 miles, but since the odometer is only 5 digit, I really don't know what the correct mileage is.
While running, there is a tapping sound. I think its one of the lifters. Changed the timing chain housing and the water pump last month.
I have not driven the car in awhile so I'm sure you will need to add some tranny fluid and brake fluid, but should work fine. Freeze plugs are in good shape. Body is in decent shape with some rust around the usual spots. (Drain holes and the bottom of the back fenders.) Paint is a 24 year old paint job (previous owner), so you will need to respray. Interior will need to be replaced, but the kits are not too expensive. (see pics) Floor pans are in godd shape. The Hide-Away lights still work and are the original vacuum setup. The car does not have the flasher unit for the sequential lights. Mechanically the car is in good shape, just needs someone that knows how to take care of these cats. I have the Texas Blue Title in hand. You can see from the pics that for her age, she is still a great looking car.
This was my first car. Bought it when I was a sophmore in high school from a friend. I wish I could keep my car, but I need to think of family first. I'm a hard working guy thats tired of the paycheck to paycheck life and wants better for my family. This is the only thing I have of any value, so out she goes. And yes, I have already heard from all my friends Keep the car and get rid of the wife. Hahaha. Sending my wife back to school will accomplish security for us in the long run. Whom ever gets to take this car home, please take care of my baby. Email me with any questions and thanks for looking.
Any rich uncle's out there, bid high it's for a good cause. Thanks again.
Also, I would like to keep the Air Cleaner Cover and the Valve Covers (sentimental value). These will be removed before car is shipped.
