This is an excellent example of a 1971 Mercury Cougar. This is a two owner car with 94, 000 original miles. Over two thousand dollars of maintenance was performed before this Cougar was driven in 2014 from Washington State to Arizona. The engine starts up every time with no odd noises and no smoke. The FMX 3 speed transmission shifts smoothly through all its gears and holds a comfortable 75 MPH. The car stops great with no pulls to left or right. The car tracks straight down the road without any wandering.
I just repaired the drivers seat to make the interior perfect. Headliner is in great shape! Dash has no cracks! door panels in good shape with small crack near the arm rest.(hard to see) Carpet in excellent condition!
Have a new stereo in the glove box with remote controls.
The paint is an 8 out of 10. looks to of had one repaint and has a good shine. Small bubbles on left front fender about the size of an eraser. The car is very rust free with no evidence of major collision or repair. Small amount of surface rust under the trunk lid, but an easy weekend repair. Trunk pan and floors very solid and clean.
