1968 Mercury Cougar
I am having to sell my Cougar. We started fixing it up, but my husband and I have split up and I am trying to buy a house and can't have this car payment.
OK here is the list:
The radiator that is on it, is not big enough(not factory)
Does not have a fan shroud(not sure if it's supposed to)
Could use a different fan(not factory)
Does not have an overflow tank for radiator
Needs tie rods & ball joints
Brake pads and rotors ( front brakes converted over from drum to disc from a 78 Ford Granada)
Wiring needs gone through( the ignition switch will not cut the car off)
Paint is peeling
Interior needs cleaned and driver seat redone(all interior is with car)
Headlight doors are manual atm, uses vacuum and all vacuum hoses are gone(most people are converting to electric from Ford Probes)
All trim is there(except wheel well), and needs put back on.
Have a lot of new rubber seals that need put on but are with the car.
The floor shifter has some play in it(bushings?)
Needs tires(wheels are not factory)
Needs better exhaust
Valve covers need breathers.
The motor in it is a 302(not factory) and not sure on the mileage it has.
Rust is very minimal, (front bumper, below driver side back window)
We had the transmission rebuilt in 2010 or 2011, but haven't even put 500 miles on it since.
All the glass is good.
Headlights work as well as rear sequentials work most times(which should have wiring checked on it)
We put front disc brakes from 78 Ford Granada(spindles, rotors, & calipers).
I should have all trim, we took it off when painting it in 2011. Paint job did not hold up and is peeling in spots. Have some new rubber seals for trunk, doors, etc.
This car NEEDS to be restored as we did not have the money or resources to do it ourselves.
