I've owned this wagon for 12 years and love it. I'm only selling it because I don't drive the car enough to justify the cost of storage any longer. This car has never sat outside - and shouldn't.
The car is a very well cared for survivor. There has never been any work done on the paint, or the interior and there is no rust on the car anywhere, including the undercarriage. The paint is in excellent condition. There is one small spot on the hood where bird poop has etched the clear coat slightly in a spot smaller than a dime. The spot is so slight it didn't come out in the pics. There's also one tiny door ding on the side in the wood area that doesn't show up in the pics. A paintless dent remover could fix it easy enough but I never bothered as you really have to look for it to find it. There is a small dent in the middle of the rear bumper under the Apple sticker. The original owner of the car had a light duty trailer hitch installed on the car and must have had a mishap while backing up to whatever small trailer is was going to pull.
The car does have the trailer tow package with the 3.55 rear end, larger radiator, transmission cooler and larger rear brakes. The original level ride compressor and shocks work perfectly. It also has the extremely rare heated front windshield, note the third button in the center of the dash. Because of the heated front windshield the car came with a larger alternator.
All maintenance on the car is current. It doesn't need anything and can be driven anywhere. The A/C works better in this wagon than my new cars. It's still an R12 system that works perfectly. All options on the car work perfectly. Comes with a custom fit California Car Cover - their most expensive lightest weight outdoor material.
The interior is like new. The car is a non smoker car and has no odors. The leather on the steering wheel is starting to fade slightly but I have a NOS steering wheel for the car that comes with it that can be put on at any time. The car also has no rattles at all and drives like a new car. I had the transmission rebuilt within the last 5k miles by a local professional shop. I have all receipts for the car since I've owned it. The tires are like new and about 2 years old. The belts, hoses, thermostat, plugs, wires, etc., have all been changed and replaced with Motorcraft parts where possible. The brakes have all been replaced in the past 5-7k miles as well.
The car always passes California's strict smog tests. I replaced the stereo with one that has bluetooth capability and that also has selectable lighting so it matches the rest of the car. I used adapter wiring harnesses for everything so no wires on the car were cut or altered in any way.
I encourage anyone who's interested to come check out the car or to have an inspection service come see it. I'll work with the buyer to deliver the car to the shipper but the cost of the shipping is the buyers responsibility. I live about 15 minutes from San Jose airport and would also pick up the buyer if they want to drive the car home. I'd have no hesitation putting my mother in this car and setting her off on a cross country trip.
