This is a very clean, untouched low miles California car.
A classic cruiser with the great breeze away rear window that works.
A real time machine. It is said to only have two previous owners. With only 79900 miles it seems very believable. The car still has most of the original paintjob and was always parked inside in the past, but it appears some panels has been repainted a long time ago.
It still has the original interior, and it's in a good condition with the exception of some minor tears in the middle of the front and rear seat. The vinyl is still soft, and the springs good. Headliner, dashpad and doorpanels are great, but the carpet shows some discoloration.
The 390 ci big block engine was completely rebuilt less than 10000 miles ago, and the C6 automatic transmission was gone thru at the same time. A new automatic cooler has been installed.
The car has both power steering and power brakes. The Mercury drives very smooth and quiet. Good exhaust , good tires and brakes.
The fullsize body is in a very good condition and all complete. There is some minor dings and dents, but nothing really bad. The chrome is in good condition all around, and is not missing anything. I can not find any rust at this well kept California car, and no signs of prior repairs either.
All gauges work, all lights work, even the original radio works. There is a crack in the windshield, but all other glass is intact. It is missing the lock cylinder for the trunk lid however. All doors open, close and lock with ease.
This is a car i would not hesitate to take my family on a cross country trip with. It is very comfortable and enjoyable. Not very often do you see a car this untouched with such low miles.
