Description:

Here is a chance to own a true survivor car. An early '50's cruiser just in time for Father's Day. This car runs, drives, stops, and attracts a ton of attention. The car has 1970's lacquer paint that for the most part still looks great. It has a large windsheild visor painted white to match the roof. There are only two body spots that show the age. One is above the driver side rear wheelwell, and the other spot is on the hood. Both are pictured. Floor pans all look and feel solid. The tires are all new bias ply whitewalls size-correct for the car. The transmission is a Merc-O-Matic that was rebuilt at a transmission shop in 2014 (for a ridiculous amount of money). It shifts fine. The glass is all very nice, the stainless looks great, and while the chrome may not be show quality for a restorer, it still looks good for a survivor . . ...The Monterey chrome nameplates on the rear quarters need to be replaced. The battery is new 6Volt, and has a manual shut-off for long periods of storage. The car can be used for car shows as a Survivor Car, a class that seems to be growing as people finally let these old cars see the light of day. And it shows well, Notice the trophies..This car was in garage-storage for a bunch of years before being brought back to life around 2012.. It could use some attention to all of the systems as any un-restored 64 year old car would need. The trunk lid lock is not installed, but I do have one now to go with the car. The passenger side door likes to stick due to a bad latch or linkage, I think, but these are all factored into my low starting bid price. The front seat outside sheet metal wrap around panels are in the trunk. Straight, but not yet painted or installed. The car has a definite low rumble to the exhaust thanks to a glasspack installed at some earlier time. It has a 1978 inspection sticker still on it. The interior looks good, but could use some refreshing, mainly by painting and installing the two sheet metal seat side panels. Seats are passable as a driver. Headliner looks good. All the stainless inside looks great, and intact. The front seats still have the rope-type grab handles on their backs. For safety features I wrote; It's BIG, but they wouldn't use it. The car is for sale locally, but for a much higher price. Car has to be sold to make room for another toy already in progress. They're only this close to factory original once, and I don't want to be tempted to change or upgrade it from original. ...I'll leave that decision to the next owner. Pickup locally, or buyer to arrange shipping. The best description is ; it's a pretty much untouched cruiser from the '50's that is ready for your cruising pleasure. Car is in Manning South Carolina. .. .. ...Good Luck!. ..Bid High, and Bid Often!.
