Up for auction is a 1962 Mercury Monterey S-55. The S-55 is a fairly rare version of the Monterey. It features the bucket seats, console with shifter and the semi-divided rear seat.
Here is your chance to own a spectacular, one-of-a-kind, hot rod/show car. It has been featured in several magazines and also on the cover. It has won numerous awards at various shows across the country. It has won an award at least once at the different Goodguys shows I have attended. It won 3 awards at one show. It has also won awards for paint, interior and engine at indoor shows.
It is powered by a 4.6 Liter DOHC engine from a 1993 Lincoln Mark VIII along with its 4R70W overdrive automatic transmission.
This engine features the second set of intake butterflies that open at full throttle and work as they should.
The radiator, fans and fuel pump are all from the Lincoln Mark VII and function as Ford intended. It even has the fuel pump inertia switch installed and functional.
The gas tank is the original that has been modified for the Ford in tank electric pump.
The wiring is from Ron Francis and uses the stock computer. This car could be taken to any Ford dealer and plugged in for diagnostic work.
The suspension is a complete system from Air Ride Technologies (Ride Tech).
Paint is two tone gold and green. Both colors are from a 2001 VW Passat. Paint is base/clear and is gorgeous.
When built, there was only a small area on the left rear quarter (1 by 3) that needed repaired. It was repaired professionally with only minimal filler required.
The floor pans and trunk pans are original with no patches.
Interior consists of the stock seats covered in Ultraleather with ostrich inserts. The headliner is a floral pattern and gets attention at every show.
Trunk is also fully finished out using the same materials
Wheels are Intro Pentias with Nitto 555 tires. Sizes are 18's and 20's.
Brakes are Baer with 13 rotors and polished calipers at all 4 corners. The brakes work very well.
The exhaust features Flowmaster mufflers
This car is a gorgeous example that you could not duplicate for anywhere near what I am asking. This car starts every time, idles in traffic with the A/C on without overheating, drives great and gets attention everywhere you go.
Just attended the Goodguys show in DesMoines and received the Class Act Award. Put over 800 miles on the car and it performed flawlessly.
I have this car priced very reasonably. If you were to have this car built, it would easily be in the six figures.
