Very well maintained and cared for 1999 Mercury Moutaineer with low mileage for its age. Super-clean with very few cosmetic issues. Headliner and carpet are perfect; leather is very clean and not cracked and worn. Interior trim is very clean and nearly perfect (a small sun crack on dash). Its been smoke-free since I've owned it and seemed like it has always been. I'm not sure what the trim packages were, but this one is pretty well equiped; cold AC, leather throughout, roof console, subwoofer stereo system, foglights, power seats, windows, and locks, rear climate control. Cargo area is immaculate and has cargo net and rollout cover. The cruise control buttons in these always disintegrated after a few years - I've replaced these an they are new and work great. The chrome wheels are very clean and shiny with minimal road rash.I'm the 2nd owner, but I think it was parked and stored before me - the mileage was very low when I purchased it at a dealership locally. I've had it about 6 yrs and haven't been driving it for the last 4. My shortage of driveway space is a buyers win! Engine is clean and serviced at normal intervals. Aside from the mentioned issue with idling at start-up it has no problems I am aware of. Still a good amount of tread on tires. The radio is hit and miss - these were a bad design (according to the forums) that overheated and cracked internal components. It works (sometimes). Easy fix though. | “Very well kept and maintainned. It is 16 yrs old so here is the list of things that need attention; Dent in tailgate - in photos but hard to see. Doesn't effect tailgate function. Small crack in dashboard from sun - not bad and easy fix. Sometimes powerlock on tailgate doesn't actuate - it always works with keys though. Doesn't idle well at start-up, but levels off after a minute or so - it's fine in traffic - it doesn't stall or anything - it just needs a little gas when cold at start-up. The radios in these are notoriously a problem - the heat causes the internal board to go haywire. It works, but the display doesn't always power up. Tachometer works intermitently.” |
