Up for auction is a very rare 1940 mercury coupe. This coupe was lovingly named Bessie by the original owner. This coupe sat in a building for over 40 years before I acquired it. The barn was scheduled for demolition and Bessie had to be sold. Bessie is a very rare car but she needs total restoration! She will need floor boards trunk pan, rockers . .etc. These are relstivelyeasy fixes due to the nature of being flat steel in most panels. This is a perfect candidate for a rat rod or restoration!!! Many rare and hard to find parts are included in the auction. Bessie will need fenders running boards and a trunk. Chrome grille is in fairly decent shape and original bumpers with bumper ends are present. Bessie still has her original flathead v8 that is complete with generator carburetor and pulleys! The radiator and transmission are also included. The motor spins freely and is not locked down. Buyer is responsible for any and all shipping but I will help in any way possible. Bessie will be sold with a Georgia registration and bill of sale as titles were not available in Georgia in 1940. The vehicle is registered to me and the new owner will receive registration. Bessie is being sold as is with no warranty either expressed written or implied and I reserve the right to end the auction early. So, bid to buy! I have a local glass shop that can make fenders and running board for $800. These will take around 2 weeks to build. Bessie, can sit at my garage until these parts are completed if the new owner desires. I will load the new partsand fenders in the car for transport to keep costs down for the new owner. These ndw fiberglass fenders and running boards are for a 1940 Ford but should be able to work with modifications.
