I purchased the MGA in 2007 from the owner in Grand Rapids, Michigan off Ebay. The car had been in storage (heated basement) since 1982. I contacted John Twist and contracted a pre-purchase inspection before purchasing. When I told him the story about being in storage since 1982 he shared with me that he had records where the car was last worked on by his shop in 1982. This is a solid car that has never been wrecked.Tthe engine is strong and the car is driveable. Here is what I have done so far. Removed the interior, as I planned to replace with new leather, carpet and panels. Both main floor boards wood sections were replaced. A new clutch/brake master cylinder was installed along with new rotors/calipers and pads on front. Radiator pressure tested, cleaned , painted and reinstalled with a radiator shroud. Carbs refurbished along with a rebuild of the fuel pump. New rear springs, axle limiting straps and a stainless steel exhaust have been placed. The car has 4 new painted tubeless Dayton wire wheels shod with new whitewall radials from Coker Tire. New 12V battery. Car also has a New Moto-Lita wood wheel with a leather cover in place. I planned to touch the paint up as needed for a driver But a respray would be the new owners decision. Bumpers will need cosmetics, re-chrome or replacement with aftermarket reproduction. New side-curtains, top, and interior with carpet will be necessary. Old seats along with the top frame will go with the car. The RESERVE ON THE CAR IS 13, 800.00, no reason to play games. I plan to sell this along with a totally restored 67 MGB-GT and 1948 MGTC. This is a great start as a driver or candidate for a complete restoration. I have been fooling with MG's since 1969 when I got married and bought my first car, 1963 MGB. Still have the wife and wish I had the car. Come see and drive the car. The spare is not a Dayton tubeless wire, the wheels has been blasted, painted and new tube and whitewall tire mounted. Realized this when I took it from storage. An email with a video attached of car running is available , please request and provide a send to email address.
