MG MGA (1957)

This is a very solid older
restoration that I would describe as an excellent “driver quality” car that can
be enjoyed as a fun reliable driver and shown proudly in local car shows. It
was completely restored about 10-12 years ago and driven little since. The fact that it still looks so good speaks well to the overall quality of the restoration.
It is a solid car with no signs of rust and a damage free body that appears to have been stripped to bare metal and received a complete repaint of all surfaces. I
cannot find any signs of rust repair or damage repair. The fit lines are all
good and everything lines up well. It runs out
beautifully. It shifts up and down just as it did new and the brakes stop firm
and straight. It does not burn any oil and shows only the usual small drips
after use. The engine and transmission were rebuilt and maintained by
University Motors in Michigan. Known for their expertise in MG's. Everything seems to work as it should. The moss
Motors top is in very good condition with signd of little use and fits very well. There is a set of
un-restored side curtains included. The steel wheels were restored some time after the car was and look great. All the major chrome shines beautifully with no pitting dents or dings and all the chrome trim fits nicely. The interior is a moss motors leather seat set with everything looking very tidy with little wear. The foam seat inner pads are firm and seem to have been rebuilt when the car was restored.
All in all it appears to be a very
original straight solid car. I have owned many of these MGA's and currently
have a 62 Mark II that I drive all summer. I believe these cars offer a great
opportunity for anyone who wants to enjoy owning a great classic that has great
appreciation potential, while enjoying an iconic convertible. Parts are
plentiful, inexpensive and mechanically they are very simple and easy to work
on. I can't think of a better entry level classic that offers more carefree
enjoyment than a vintage MG.
The time to ask questions and
complete inspections is prior to bidding. The reserve is very reasonable and I
fully expect this car to sell either through this auction or prior to its end.
I have sold many vintage cars on eBay and every one of them has resulted in a
happy new owner who got a better than retail deal on a great car. I would
gladly buy any of them back. I expect this sale to be no different. So please
bid only if you have done your homework and you are ready willing and able to
complete the sale.
I reserve the right to end this sale
anytime if the car is no longer available. Most of the cars I have listed have
sold prior to end of the auction so if you are genuinely interested in this car
please call me with questions or if you are lucky enough to live close to
central Ohio come inspect it in person. It is well worth your time.
It is of course sold AS-IS and
Where-IS. I can store it in the heated facility it is in now for up to 30 days
at no addition charge. However I require a $500 NON REFUNDIBLE deposit within
24 hours after the sale has ended and the balance within 5 days regardless of
when you pick it up. I will not release the car until all funds have cleared. I
will provide a clear title upon receipt of cleared funds. I have sold several cars to
buyers in Europe and would be happy to assist with this sale to any buyers
abroad.
To ask questions or schedule an
inspection please call Jeff at 614-352-3434
