Description:

Welcome to the opportunity to purchase a truly rare and unique British sports car just in time for summer! This 1965 MGB is a highly sought after chrome bumper, “metal dash” “pull handle” car with a long list of new mechanicals. The body is straight and frame chassis and rails are straight and solid. The panel gaps are good, and doors shut properly; an honest, mechanically sound car, awaiting your cosmetic inclination. It’s your turn to take this beautiful palate and create your masterpiece.
This MGB MKII roadster is powered by a completely rebuilt engine 5 main bearing, 1798 cc inline four cylinder engine painted the proper MGB color. The engine features a Weber DVG carburetor, late model unleaded compatible cylinder head, and camshaft reground by Schneider to slightly more aggressive specifications. The engine also includes upgraded electronic ignition, a new water pump, new radiator, new generator, upgraded gear reduction starter, and a spin-on oil filter adapter.
The remainder of the drive train is made up of a properly functioning, electronic overdrive transmission, a new clutch and pressure plate and new clutch and slave cylinders. The brakes have been repaired including new rear wheel cylinders and new brake lines. All suspension bushings have been replaced.
The car has been converted to negative ground. Standard shocks have been installed in the rear and the original style, troublesome fuel pump has been replaced with a modern, solid-state electronic fuel pump. The fuel tank has been cleaned, flushed and sealed. The floors have been repaired. The exhaust system has been upgraded and produces just the right tone. The car sports new minilite wheels and tires. All the glass is there and the windows roll up and down. The convertible top bows are included, as is a tonneau cover.
There is some rust evident along the bottom of the doors and fenders, and some rust may exist in other places that are not apparent now. To my knowledge the car has spent its entire life in California, most of it within the family.
I have represented this vehicle to the best of its ability. The MGB is being sold as is. No warranty apply implied or expressed. Prospective bidders are encouraged to contact me directly to obtain additional information or answers to any questions. An inspection is welcomed and encouraged. I reserve the right to end the auction early, given it is advertised in other venues locally.
Bidders with a feedback score of ten (10) or less, or who live outside the 48 states are asked to contact me prior to bidding to avoid cancellation of your bid. The winning bidder is required to contact me within 24 hours after the close of the auction to finalize the details of the transaction.
A $500 non-refundable deposit is required within 48 hours of the auction's close. This deposit reserves the vehicle and removes it from the market. Acceptable payment types for deposit include paypal, cashier's check or money order. If winning bidder does not contact me and submit deposit within 48 hours of auction close, vehicle may be made available to the next highest bidder or another qualified buyer on a first come, first serve basis. Full payment is required within 7 days of auction close.
Final or winning bid does not include shipping, tax, title, or registration fees. It is the purchaser's responsibility to provide for any state or local taxes and shipping expenses resulting from the sale.
Be prepared to be constantly returning the thumbs up to all of the admiring fans as you cruise around the city streets and highways with the sun on your face and the wind in your hair.
