A really excellent example… Excellent floors, sills, inner rockers, body and paint. All new interior in Autumn leaf, new wood dashboard, just lowered to pre 1975 ride height, just converted to wire wheels with new splined hubs and all new hardware, wire wheels sandblasted, primed and painted, new inner tubes, 195/70 radials.
Engine: fitted with improved manifolds and 32 DGV Weber carb, 140 psi compression in every cylinder, 75 psi oil pressure when warm, no smoke when cold or hot, runs like new BUT with far more power. Transmission is 4 speed all synchromesh with proper working overdrive, clicks ‘in’ and ‘out’ instantly and smoothly. Wiring is very good and everything works properly.
New tan top with zipper out rear window, full tonneau, new Sony stereo/CD with USB input, new quality speakers, and all of the superior improvements fitted to later model MGBs…electronic ignition, thermostatically controlled radiator fans, front and rear sway bars, power disc brakes, bigger gauges, better controls, smoother transmission and engine…in some ways, 35% modern Honda/Toyota and 65% classic MG.
Has spare wire wheel, jack, knock off hammer, nice leather steering wheel, 3 point belts, AND…….for $3, 000 extra, can do a complete professional chrome bumper conversion, eliminate the side lights, fit a new Mk I grille, new bumpers and over riders, sheet metal, lights, etc. and visually duplicate the earliest MGBs.
And…air conditioning is available which makes this car an interesting alternative to a modern sports car…less power but more classic enjoyment, and with excellent ride, handling, and real style.
