Description:

Sabrina is an excellent example of one of the last chrome bumper, factory overdrive, MGBs. In the mid-nineties, she was re-painted her original teal blue, given a new top, new leather upholstery, and the body undercoated. Since that time, she has been driven very little, and kept in covered, climate-controlled spaces. From 2002 to 2014, for example, she was driven just 2, 500 miles.
There does not appear to have ever been a bit of rust on Sabrina. Before purchasing her, I had her inspected by a body shop that specializes in car restoration, and they reported that there was absolutely no evidence of body fillers or an indication that any panels had ever been replaced. As of this writing, the finish is as close to flawless as one could expect it to be.
I recently removed the cylinder head, because I wanted to install hardened exhaust valve seats in order to use unleaded gas. At the machine shop, the head was magnafluxed, cleaned, resurfaced, and all new valves/springs/guides, etc., were installed along with the hardened seats. The engine does not burn oil, and the compression is perfectly even in all 4 cylinders. While this work was being done, I re-built the original SU carburetors, installed a new electronic distributor, coil, plug wires, and inspected all hoses. The tachometer was working intermittently and the trip odometer was not working, so I sent both instruments off for a rebuild.
The transmission works smoothly, with no noise, and the overdrive is a real pleasure when driving on the freeway.
Sabrina turns a lot of heads. I am selling her to make room for another vehicle.
