1974 MGB w/chrome bumpers; 4-speed manual transmission, no O/D; Weber carb
I bought this car 5 yrs ago (from the family of the original owner) as a retirement project. The odometer had broken at 86K; the family and some service records indicate it had about 100K miles on it. Odometer/speedometer are reconditioned with the mileage reset to 0.
Restoration done:
complete new interior -- floor pans, dashboard rebuild, seats, carpeting and panels, radio and speaker system
new windscreen
exterior body damage (dings, rust spots, etc) repaired
entire car repainted by a body shop; Damask red ( was originally orange)
new brake master cylinder, new front brake pads, wheel cylinders reconditioned
new clutch master and slave cylinders
one new shock absorber (others checked & reconditioned)
front-end rebuilt – new kingpins, all rubber bushings replaced
distributor rebuilt
heater, oil cooler & main radiators all reconditioned
No work done on engine, transmission or other drive-train items. Car does not appear to burn any oil and runs extremely well.
Health issues prevent me from completing the project. To be done:
Install new convertible top (have new top from Moss Motors still in box)
Have front end (toe-in) aligned
Align headlamps
Any shipping is entirely the buyer's responsibility. The vehicle is located in Bakersfield, CA. It is registered/licensed in CA and is fully driveable.
