for sale

Price: US $1,725.00

Description:

Up for sale is a VERY RARE little 1973 MGB.
This is a documented ONE OWNER car from new
. It is best described as a barn find. .just awakened from a long slumber. It runs and drives...but needs and deserves a full restoration. Very original, not molested. This is the perfect MGB for someone wanting to restore a solid southern car. Running and driving foundation to start with...plus a verifiable background and one owner pedigree. Most of our beloved MG's went through a LOT of owners over the years. You may never find another one owner out there for sale again.

I acquired this car from the original owner. It was purchased new here in Birmingham, Alabama, where it is now. I have the original bill of sale, original sales paperwork, registration and ALL maintenance records going back to 1973 when it was originally purchased. .all in the original owners name, whom I obtained the car from.
Car has a current registration, is tagged / licensed and insured.
It has been off the road for quite awhile and was just awakened it from it's slumber. After installing a new battery, cleaned the gas tank out, cleaned the carburetors, new spark plugs and new tires. .she fires right up and runs smooth. No smoke, no knocks and no unusual noises. Hydraulic clutch and brakes work..but the brakes could still use a little attention before it was driven a lot. Has recently had a new top professionally installed.
MECHANICAL-
This little MGB starts right up. Holds good oil pressure and runs cool. No knocks, no smoke and no unusual noises, It is VERY original under the hood...including the original emission system and smog pump. All in working condition. Clutch works well. Transmission shifts out smoothly. Differential is smooth and quite. The brakes work, but would advise going through them before anyone drives it any substantial amount. But they do work and stop the car. Even the emergency / parking brake works. I just cleaned out the carbs, installed a new battery and installed new spark plugs. Cleaned out the fuel tank, fuel lines and installed a new fuel filter. Starts right up every-time and runs and idles smoothly.
ELECTRICAL-
All the electrical seems to be working except for the horn. Headlights work on bright and dim. Dash lights work. Tail lights work. Turn signals work. Side marker lights work. Tag light works. Windshield wipers work. All the electrical gauges work. Even the interior light works. The aftermarket radio does not work. It lights up but does not make any sounds.
BODY- The body is very straight. Door, hood and trunk gaps are very good. Only some minor parking lot dings. Not rust through on the body. The rocker panels are some of the best looking rockers I've seen on an un-restored car. I can only find 3 very small bubbles on the rockers, and they feel solid. The jacking holes are solid. Front and rear valances are good with NO rust. The trunk floor is solid. The rear floor sections look very good with no rust. Inner seals and door jambs look very good and are rust free. Bottom of doors look good and are rust free. Doors, hood and trunk open and close easily. The lip on the hood and trunk are rust free. There is some rust in the front part of the floor pans on both sides...but small enough that it could be patched without needing total floor pans replaced. It is currently British Racing Green, (but the original color was Harvest Gold). It was resprayed several years ago. The current paint is in TERRIBLE condition. It has faded almost completely away.
INTERIOR
- The interior is very original. The dash looks very good. All the gauges look good and they all work. Has a very good looking console, much better than most. Has the original seats. The passenger seat looks decent but the vinyl on the drivers seat has deteriorated and looks bad. The seats need recovered. The door panels have seen better days and need replace. Basically it needs all the interior replaced to be a nice looking car again. Everything is there, but it is a 43 year old car that has not been restored.
TOP- The top has just been recently professionally installed. The top looks and fits like new. The top frame looks good, folds easily and does not have any damage.
WHEELS & TIRES- This car has the original MG Rostyle wheels. They are solid and roll true. Sitting on a set of NEW Fusion Touring radials.
To summarize, this is a solid little car that runs and drives.
Documented ONE OWNER since new...with tons of documentation and all maintenance records.Perfect candidate for a full restoration. .or just drive and play with it as it is.New tires.New top, professionally installed.New battery.New spark plugs.Original owners manual.
