This beautiful 1971 MGB was meticulously restored several years ago using all the finest parts including a brand new body shell from British Motor Heritage. The body shell comes with the door, hood, and trunk. The cost of this body shell today is over $13, 200! (www.bmh-ltd.com/mgshell.htm)
I just purchased this MG from a 93 year old man that has owned the car for the past 20 years. He has over $24, 000 in the restoration which included rebuilding the motor with new rod & main bearings, .010U crankshaft, and new valves, seats & guides for running unleaded fuel. The transmission including the overdrive were also rebuilt. The engine purrs with that classic MG tone and the transmission shift smooth and quiet. The overdrive engages effortlessly and operates like it should.
Five new Uniroyal 185/75/15 radial tires & tubes and the spare still has the sticker on it. He also purchase five new wire wheels from Moss Motors. The brakes have been updated to slotted front brakes for better stopping. Everything works on the car including the interior light. The interior was new twenty years ago and only showing minimal wear. The Wilton wool carpet kit looks brand new.
The convertible top looks brand new and has hardly been put down. The plastic window is crystal clear and the vinyl top is free of any tears. A brans new tonneau cover is included along with a custom car cover and jack. The luggage rack is stainless steel and also looks new and unused.
I have set a very fair reserve well below the cost of the restoration. Keep in mind, this is a brand new body shell! Please feel free to call me with any questions.
