I bought this car over the winter as a fun little project to work on. Now that the weather has warmed up I have tons of other projects that need to get done (roof on the house, remodeling, etc). I dont really have time and need the money so the car has to go.
About the car:
Original paint. Originally California car. No major rust and no rust through...only a couple cancer spots. Paint is oxydised but could clean up and polish nice. Nice chrome. Very nice rims and almost new tires. Undercoated many years ago and is now starting to flake off. Actual mileage unknown.
What I have done over the past few months:
Interior: New front and rear seat upholstery. NEW FOAM and WEBBING as well...look and feel like new. Matching arm rest. New carpet. New stereo (pioneer w/bluetooth) and speakers.
Engine: Cleaned (ultrasonic clean) and Rebuilt carbs (master rebuild kit). New exhaust rings (fixed exhaust leak). New side tappet cover (replaced the old leaky kind). Adjusted valves. New silicone valve cover gasket (replaced the very old cork gasket).
What still needs to be done (in my opinion):
Interior: Replace door panels with new black ones (currently dark blue). A couple other small panels should also be replaced with matching black (the ones by your feet). Engine: Tune carbs (it runs but it need adjustment). Adjust timing? I started with the valve adjustment and the next thing would be to check advance and then tune carbs. Exhaust mounts mid and rear (currently wired up...not expensive or hard). Replace hood latch pull (already purchased and ready to put on).
I just finished putting everything back together after the engine work and only drove around the block. It drives nice and would make a great daily driver for the right person. It is over 40 years old and would require tlc. oh yeah...I also have a 13 inch wood steering wheel (Moto Lita) I bought to replace but didnt get toit. That will go with the car as well as a few extra gaskets and repair manual. I have put a couple thousand $ into improvements and quite a few hours of work.
This is a no reserve auction and will sell to highest bidder if no local buyer in 3 days. Car is listed locally and I reserve the right to end the auction if the car sells before auction ends. I would personally value this car at 7, 000 but I know you never get what you think.
I have added pictures of the work I have done. All is completed except for what I listed above. I will add more pics, so watch this item and come back and view new pics. Glad to answer any questions.
