Description:

1976 MGB I'm the third owner. I have clear title in my name. The previous owner is a friends dad. He got the car from the original owner in the early 80's. I've had it about 5 years. Overall it's a solid car. I drove it regularly until the throw out bearings started to squeal at me when pushing the clutch down all the way. I parked it at that time. So it needs the throw out bearings replaced, and while in there you might as well do the clutch and seal. It does have a couple patches of rust bubbling through the paint as pictured and the typical cracks by the side view mirrors. The drivers side floor pan needs replacing. The usual rust spots on these cars (I.e. Trunk, deck behind seats etc.) don't exist on this car. It has a single weber carb and the catalytic converter has been replaced with an open tester pipe that I had reinforced welded. The heater box set up doesn't work. I never got into looking at the why, because we don't need heaters much in south Louisiana ;) The headers were cleaned and painted with high temp paint. Valves adjusted and static timing done. The tires are good. The car runs great! Just can't drive it too much until getting the clutch fixed. The car currently has the 4 speed non-OD transmission, but I do have a spare OD transmission and matching short drive shaft that I pulled from a 76 MGB salvage that can go with the car. The car is drive-able, though I wouldn't too much before fixing the bearings. All lights work.
Please ask any and all questions prior to bidding. I will respond as quickly as possible. If there are specific pictures other than the ones provided that you need please let me know and I will try to get them posted ASAP.
Remember, this is not a show car. It has never been restored. It was my daily driver. It's a lot of fun, but does require maintenance.
I am happy to show the vehicl to local interests, just message me and we will set up a time to do so.
A $500 non refundable deposit is due at the close of the auction. Vehicle must be picked up. I'd plan on a trailer, not driving it home, though it runs good and could be driven onto the trailer. If you want to ship it, then you must arrange the details.
I do have this vehicle listed elsewhere and reserve the right to end this auction if it sells first through those listings.
Vehicle is sold as is where is. No warranty implied.

“Needs Clutch redone. Driver side floor pan needs replacing. Stitching coming loose around rear window insert. Would probably want to replace top if going to be daily driver. Fuel gauge not working. Paint is second painting from years back, peeling in some places. A couple rust spots on body, a few stains. Usual cracks in body by side mirrors.”
