This is an ORIGINAL 1980 Limited Edition MGB, that was converted to a 3.5 liter Rover V8 and Rover 5 Speed Transmission. This Limited Edition V8 MGB is absolutely stunning in every way and is certainly one of a kind. It's powerful, has a very quiet V8 rumble and is very comfortable to drive. The V8 Engine is sourced from a low milage 3500 Rover SD1 higher compression “Vitesse model” engine (extremely tight, CLEAN engine. Oil is absolutely clean). The Rover 5 Speed Transmission is also very tight along with Heavy Duty Driveshaft.
The exterior of this 1980 Limited Edition is painted the Bronze Metallic which is the original color found on the EUROPEAN 1980 MGB Roadster Limited Editions (MG History: In 1979 and 1980 America recieved 1 Limited Edition MGB which was painted Black with Silver Stripes, however Europes' version of the Limited Edition MGB Roadster was painted Bronze Metallic and Limited Edition MGB GT Limited Edition was painted Pewter Metallic Silver since the GT was still being produced in Europe only, so in reality there were actually 3 Limited Editions produced, 1 for USA and 2 for Europe). This custom made Black interior with Bronze Metallic piping is truly one of a kind and is not a kit. ALL pieces match, including: Shift Boot, Center Arm Console Lid (which has extra padding for extra elbow comfort!) along with the rear cockpit surround. This specially made interior is extremely plush and luxurious. The windshield is also restored, an item that is usually always overlooked (mainly because it is extremely complicated to take apart and rebuild!
We pay special attention to this highly visible piece on the MGB and make it even better than original, the windshield frame is chromed (which is an extremely complicated/expensive process since the frame is aluminum), this really helps tie the side vent windows together nicely since they’re polished stainless steel, all seals are replaced along with a new windshield installed, make for a very luxurious European looking 1980 MGB Limited Edition, and with those little V8 badges on the side, makes for one very special MGB V8.
Here is a list of all the special items added to make this Limited Edition MGB unique and literally one of a kind: Special Bronze Metallic Base Coat/Clear Coat, UV Protected, state of the art Paint Job. Gear Reduction High Torque Starter, Oil Pump Relocation Kit, Oil Hoses and Fittings (makes for a very easy oil filter change and the use of a very large, common Fram PH8A oil filter), Modified Speedometer Cable (to mate up to original MGB Tach to Rover 5 Speed Transmission), High Volume MGB GT V8 All Aluminum Radiator, Flex-a-lite Wide Blade Flex Fan, Water Pump, Top and Bottom Radiator Hoses, Fan Belt, Edelbrock 500 Carb with Electric Choke, Offenhauser Dual Port Intake Manifold (extremely rare and no longer made, makes the use of the original MGB hood possible without modification to the hood), short GM Water Pump, special water pump Pulley and specially grooved bottom Pulley/Dampener (also to make fitment tighter so as not to come in contact with original stabilizer bar) MGB Temp. Switch, Low Clearance Air Cleaner, MGB throttle cable, MGB Heater Valve (with modified bracket mounted to intake manifold), Engine and Transmission mounts, PerTronix Flame Thrower Ignition System, Flame Thrower Coil, Heavy Duty Rover V8 Spark Plug Wires, Champion Spark Plugs, Rover Alternator, MGB V8 Alternator Mount, Original MGB V8 Alternator Adjusting Link, Hood and Trunk Gas Struts (no chance of either getting damaged by someone not knowing how to lower the original hood/trunk props), MGB V8 Block Hugger Headers, Stainless Steel Sport Exhaust System from headers back, Gold Limited Edition body stripe kit, Limited Edition Steering Wheel, Limited Edition Dash Plaque, Dashboard completely restored, Hazard Switch, Head Light Switch, Heater Switch, Turn Signal Switch, Custom Made Black with Bronze Piping Seat Vinyl (with matching Bronze Piping interior cockpit surround, center arm console and shift boot, all matching to the seats), Seat Webbing, Black Interior Carpet, All Interior Panels, AM/FM/MP3/CD Stereo, 4.5 RetroSound Retro Mod Speakers, Black Trunk Carpet Kit (with MG logo on spare tire cover), Sun Visors, Clutch Master Cylinder, SD1 Clutch Slave Cylinder, Clutch Flex Hose, Brake Master Cylinder, New Front Brake Pads and Rotors, Rear Wheel Cylinders, Brake Drum Shoes, 1” Lowered Front and Rear Competition Springs, V8 Badging on either side of front fenders, Chromed Windshield Frame (an MGBClassic special item which really sets off the look of the car, this is usually overlooked on other restorations), Windshield Glass, all Windshield Seals, Engine Compartment Seal, Door Seals, Headlight Gaskets, Inner Fender Splash Panel Seals, Side Vent Window Seals, Side Window Scrapers, Chrome Air Vent Grill, Side Body Molding Chrome Strips, Stainless Steel MG Door Threshold Plates, Rear MG Trunk Badge and Front Bumper “MG” Badge, Air Horns, Limited Edition Wheels, and Yokohama AVID Touring-S tires.
