Description:

69 mgb red over tan black top. Extremely original unmolested Florida car. The owner of this mgb is now over 80 yrs old and does not drive it anymore. We purchased the car last week and only had to dust it off. It has been garaged since 1969. The original owner was a Police chief in Tallahasee Fl and became to big to drive the car lol. He sold it to the second owner in about 1973 with low miles never hit and all original. We have pictures from this time frame, as well as before the car was repainted apox 12 yrs ago to show no rust ever and no accidents ever. The owner had it serviced by a very reputable german mechanic here in St Augustine since 1973. It has been gently used since new. Both owners where conservative people and loved the car. It shows like a show car from 20 feet and shows like an excellent driver from 5 feet away. There is simply nothing ugly about the car. The engine and drivetrain show so well so original they give me goosebumps because I am 61 yrs old and remember these very well. The seat covers were replaced along with new paint 12 yrs ago and everything looks fantastic no work needs to be done anywhere to use as a very nice driver. Most would consider this car show quality but I feel excellent driver is best description. The paint is very nice but not a super high quality job but don't let me be too critical its beautiful as is you do not even need to wax it. Technically very sound carbs just rebuilt 5 mos ago and a service and tune also. It runs great everything works except gas gauge and we are fixing that over the next few days. The car shows like 98, 000 miles on the dash since new all DMV paperwork also shows the same. To be perfectly honest the owner told us the speedo has stopped and started a few times over the past 2--3 years however the car was barely driven over the past few years also we believe the miles to be correct within just a few. Top, trunk, undercarriage, trim, glass carpe, t dash, etc etc all in very nice to excellent condition. No silly modifications and never any nonsense about this car. The owner did install a nice rear view mirror on the right front fender to see better while parking at the University he work/taught at for many years. Tools spare parts knock off tool all boxed up neatly. Lots of documentation service history etc also nicely organized for a new owner. Who ever the lucky new owner is they will love this one for sure. No evidence of any rust no accidents dead straight body clean undercarraige and an engine compartment straight out of the original books. Drive it home no matter where you live no need for shipping this car its ready to stretch its legs and take some deep breaths again. I can honestly say that the car looks and runs like a 25, 000 mile car I was shocked to see 90.000 on the dash as I got in the first time. Very well cared for automobile its entire life. $10, 000 or best offer its for sale not for show
