Price: US $4,500.00
British racing green with Union Jack decal on boot and
bonnet. I purchased it September 2012 and took it to a local auto repair, Mountjoy’s, who specialize in British cars. They have lots of MGs, Triumphs, Austin-Healy’s, etc. go through their shop, so they really know what they are
doing. They gave me a list of things the car needed for restoration to top
condition and ranked the items into three categories to help me prioritise
allotment of funds. A: top priority; B: secondary priority; C: third. I have
completed repairs for all of the A list except one.
A priority
Front end – shocks, tie rod ends, rack boots, sway bar links
& bushes– not done
Front brake hoses, bend lock tabs – complete
Rear brake wheel cylinders, installation of shoes and
springs, hose – complete
Water pump – complete
Diff straps – complete
Fuel hoses under bonnet – complete
In addition to the above repairs, I have also
Rewired fuse box, installed new radiator fan control, new
trunk lock, new ignition switch, new alternator, replaced throttle cable, axle
strap, replaced starter motor, replaced windshield wiper switch, replaced brake
master cylinder, brake line replaced, battery disconnect device.
Car still needs
A priority
Front end – shocks, tie rod ends, rack boots, sway bar links
& bushes
B priority
Rear u-bolts and mounting pads
Exhaust hangers
Spring shackle bushings
C priority
Front crank seal and chain if bad
Rear trans-seal
New convertible top – existing top has shrunk and no longer
fits
Reverse lamps
Windshield Washer system
Spring installed in R/H trans.mount (fix when doing clutch)
Door locks do not work with key (but boot locks)
Much of the time I have had the car, it has not
been drivable for one reason or another. I have now gotten to the point where
it is drivable and dependable, but I need the money from the sale to cover
other expenses. It is fun to drive, very responsive, and it turns heads!
You arrange your own shipping and I will happily meet the shipper and hand over keys and title. Or you may pick it up your self.
