Hello, I have a 1976 MG Midget for sale. My wife bought this car in the fall of 2013 in Rochester IL. From an elderly gentleman who was selling the car due to having trouble getting in and out of it. He told me he had purchased the car from a car lot in Springfield IL. We are selling the car do to moving and not wanting to store it anymore. Here is a listing of everything I know about the car – Car is currently in storage and was stored with fuel stabilizer and was started regularly. Battery is still holding a good charge. Body and paint-few chips on body here and there, car looks good from 10 feet. Floor pan and trunk pan solid and has a carpeted trunk. Spare tire and jack in trunk. Interior in good overall condition, seats in very good condition, no rips or tears. All electrics work except for windshield washer. Head has been rebuilt, valves done ground and reseat. Includes new valve cover gasket, PO told me that the mechanic shop where it was worked on said the valve lash will need adjusted in 3 to 5 hundred miles. New piston rings have been installed during head rebuild. new clutch and clutch master cylinder installed. Clutch pedal does travel close to floor board and probably needs bled. Car shifts fine. Speedometer works but reads 20 miles slower than traveling (cable may need lubed or replaced?). Odometer doesn’t work. PO said it quit working a couple of months before he quit driving it. He also garaged it. Tires don’t have dry rot and are in good condition. The top doesn’t leak to my knowledge and has a small repair spot, can take pics if needed. Side window has a bubble, dimple in it. All other glass is in good shape. Car starts and runs and shifts fine but when driving car doesn’t track well and wanders left to right. Car has not been taken to a mechanic to see what is wrong. Car has been in storage since we owned it and hasn’t been driven much. Clear title in hand, Shop manual and owner operating manual included. Pics were taken as the car was taken out of storage, no detailing was done. We would like $250.00 nonrefundable deposit thru pay pal within 24 hours of auction close. The rest in cash, bank issued check. Funds must clear before title is handed over. No warranties expressed or implied, car is sold as is where is. I have done my best to describe this car to my knowledge; I’m an honest ebayer check my feedback and let me know if you have any questions. Thank you.
