This is a 1954 MG TF that had a complete body off restoration and engine rebuild in 1988. ( See pictures). The work was done by Klein motor works in San Francisco.
The car spent most of its life in California only coming to Virginia around 2005. For the past 8 years the car has not been used. The owner/driver passed away a few years ago. I’m selling the car for his wife.
The body and the interior are almost perfect. The top looks as if it has never been raised and the side curtains look like they have always been in the storage box.
The car is 100% complete with tools, jack, knock off hammer, engine crank, side curtains, full tonneau cover, luggage rack, etc.
The engine starts right up, is smooth, has good oil pressure, and has plenty of power.
The Negative….
The transmission is noisy in First Gear…..Starting in Second gear works fine and is not a problem since the car is so light.
The right hand inside door open handle does not work. The door can be opened from the outside.
The brakes stop the car but the car pulls to the left.
The headlight pull switch has to be twisted as you pull it out for it to turn on the headlights
It seems as if before the car was put into storage last it was driven through a mud puddle. Some of the mud that remained on some parts of the underside of the car and on the chrome rims has formed some minor surface rust..
