Just so you know, I have one basic philosophy in life, and that is that LIFE IS TOO SHORT TO MESS WITH PEOPLE. I don't like to be messed with, and I don't mess with others. Please note that over the past 18 years on ebay, that I have 100% positive feedback as a seller. You can trust that my description of this car is accurate.
REASON FOR SELLING: We all hate to admit it, but age catches up with you! I just turned 70 years old this past Winter. Now that Spring is here I have started taking my cars out of the garage, and I find that getting into and out of my TD just isn't as easy as it use to be. It is time to face the fact that my little baby has to go. .. ... My loss - your gain! I know it is my car, so I may be a bit biased, but the car is a steal at this price!
It is a 1952 in an absolutely beautiful color combination of a soft cream/yellow with a green interior. (Over the years a number of British cars have used green in their leather/vinyl interiors and it is really attractive with the body color on this car. (Note the grille is a matching color to the interior).
The car went thru a frame on restoration about 15 years ago according to the guy I bought it from, and I have no reason to doubt that. I've owned British cars for the past 50 years and know these cars, and their wear issues pretty well. The mileage on this car is since that restoration.
If you are looking for a high quality driver, that really runs well (this car is fully sorted for driving and enjoying) then this is the car for you. It basically needs nothing.
RECENT WORK:
Carbs rebuilt, and tuned, by my mechanic this past Fall. (Rebuild kit purchased from Moss Motors). Adjusted this Spring.
Four U brackets in the rear replaced last Fall.
Tune up/oil change/lube/grease/brakes adjusted, etc. this past Fall.
CONDITION OF VARIOUS COMPONENTS:
Driveability: VERY Good - no problems.
Paint: Very Good - shows really well (and again, a beautiful color). Does have some nicks/etc from driving - some of them are touched up as per the last photos.
Chassis/undercarriage: No rust - VERY clean underneath (Look at the 6 chassis pictures - you will be impressed)!
Chrome: Very Good - no serious issues
Tires: Radial - good condition.
Engine: Very Good condition - no issues. (Carbs just rebuilt).
Top: Looks OK, no real issues other than the fact it is faded (though it is faded to an even color)!
Interior: Very Good condition - the green is gorgeous. Carpeting is newish.
Miscellaneous: Beading looks new; Glass is good; Comes with Maintenance and Owner's manuals. Smaller diameter wheel for driving ease.
SUMMARY: A VERY GOOD looking car that you can jump in and drive away. And, everytime you park someone is bound to tell you what a GOOD LOOKING car you have. I talked with my mechanic the other day to tell him I was selling the car. His reply was That will be an easy sale, that is a very good car! Enough said (but, of course, should you have any questions please let me know).
Thanks, Ray
OOPS - this car includes a tonneau cover - a picture of it is shown. The tonneau never had the front snaps attached, so a couple will need to be ordered and installed.
