This Mk 1 Mini drove across the USA and Mexico before coming to rest behind a barn in Maine. Pulled from the mud in 2004 with 123, 500 miles, it has been in barn storage since. Its owner started a restoration around 1990 but didn’t complete it, perhaps because he was 85 at the time. It features Red over red with ash wood strips, Full of Mk 1 standard features (Exposed door hinges, Sliding side windows, Oval speedometer surround (this alone might be worth the price of the car)), Genuine British Leyland NOS floor boards, tack welded in place, Separate NOS front fenders, one of which comes pre-dented, Good glass all around, Good vinyl covered seats, Intact name plates, Lots of rust on the bottom 6 inches, Unknown engine and transmission condition, No brake drums, as they had to be sacrificed to allow the car to roll out of the mud. Sold in “as is” condition. Needs work. Car comes with Bill of Sale, as titles are not issued in Maine for cars this old.
