Offered for auction today is my 2013 MINI Cooper S Coupe
To be clear, this vehicle has a Branded Title because it was in a Spring Storm in 2015 and had hail dings and rain water through an open sunroof. This presents a wonderful opportunity to buy an absolutely like new Mini S with 9, 300 miles at a substantial discount! Also, I guarantee everything in this listing with a free plain ticket home if any concerns arise. So, in other words, if you get here and find ONE issue that makes you uncomfortable I will by you a plain ticket home (up to $400). The details: This Mini was in a Spring Storm in April of 2015. The owner left the sunroof in the vent position while in Whole Foods doing some light shopping. She was unaware of the severity of the storm. When the storm passed she came out to find the driver side and top peppered with hail and the passenger front floor had an inch of water in it. The car ran and drove but at the suggestion of the Insurance agent she had the vehicle towed to Mini of St.Louis for inspection. Per water intrusion protocol the dealer estimated that everything electronic in the vehicle may need to be replaced. This is really unfair to all parties but the dealer explained that they cannot be held liable with requiring all things electronic be replaced. It wasn't long before the owner of the car demanded that the Insurance Company take the car. Despite the fact that this was unnecessary. Some States Laws require certain circumstances as reason to Salvage the vehicle. This situation was one. I understand the fear that everyone has with flood branded vehicles. But understand that a car floating down a river or a car up to the roof in salt water is light years away from what happened to this Mini. There was NO water intrusion other than 1 inch in the passenger side front only! No water in the engine, transmission or exhaust pipe. No water on the seats, console or dash. No water in the doors, trunk or glove box. The damage was only hail and 2 liters of water on the floor. The hail was expertly removed with ZERO paint work by a master PDR technician. There is ZERO evidence that any of this event took place. I purchased the Mini from IAAI auto auction for $9670 and paid $1200 for the hail removal, $400 for a footwell module, and $300 for professional coding of the replaced module. ALL certified MINI repair. When I picked the Mini up I took it to my home and removed the entire interior to seek out any water or unknown damage. The front passenger foot area had about 2 -3 liters of water. The bottom of the carpets insulation was wet as well. 2 days in the sun and 2 days with an industrial dehumidifier was all that was required to dry the carpet. The rest of the interior, including the seats, body wiring harness, showed ZERO moisture. One plug low on the footwell module had moisture in it. It didn't need replacing, until I decided to run the car without drying it out first. But within 15 minutes I fried the foot well module. At that point I reassembled the car and had it towed to MINI of St. Louis. $395 and 30 minutes later I was driving home! I then had the FRM coded by a MINI Specialist so that all options properly functioned. Things like one touch windows and self adjusting HID headlights and other things electric are ran from this module and needed to be coded to the new module. Everything now functions as new. This car smells new, drives new and is as close to new as you can get. I would let my 16 year old son or 89 year grandmother drive it anywhere! Do not let the media hype sway you from this deal. This is not a salt water flood car. This was unfortunately caught in a rain storm and had rain water only in the front passenger foot area! My intentions were to give this to my then 17 year old daughter to drive, unfortunately she doesn't like Minis and is super sensitive to peer review and apparently her friends don't drive Minis? I was going to keep the car but after a year of ownership decided to let someone else enjoy it.
Please ask any questions you may have. Below you will see a couple dozen HD pictures for your review. This Mini is the Super Charged S model with racing stripes, power everything, adaptive HID headlights, optional wheels, and just about every option besides Navigation or Power seats. The seats are heated, it does have phone connect and a CD player with USB and iPhone hook-up. I suggest looking on MINIs website for more model info, these have a lot of a la carte options and I cannot begin to describe it all. KBB and my research shows this car would sell in the $18k-$20k range as optioned and low miles considered without the branded title. The reserve is almost half that!
I insured the car with Liberty without any issues, I also was able to borrow money as well. However, please call your insurance company first and if you need to get a loan call the back first. Not all Companies are friendly to these cars. i am very open to inspection by anyone, you can even bring a Mini guru and it will pass with flying colors! Please ask any questions!
