I also added about $5k in performance upgrades to the MINI that include stabalizer, re-chip, suspension bushings and a rear seat delete (I toss an old comforter in the large trunk space which works awesome for holding things or covering them up). Then in 2011 I replaced the engine with a factory certified new Mini Cooper engine (the JCW supercharger was of course retained). The car is quick, handles great and gets 26-28mpg depending on driving conditions.
