The fastest production MINI ever. The 2013 John Cooper Works GP is based on the Cooper S but with 211-hp and 207-lb-ft of torque. Brembo brakes, Recaro seats, and Bilstein adjustable suspension make this one of the most fun and maniac cars you can buy with a factory warranty. Only 2, 000 were produced worldwide.
The car was purchased new from MINI of St. Louis, and they have performed all subsequent service. The original tires have been replaced with the longer-lasting Continental ContiSportContact 3 SSR which still provide plenty of grip in the dry and much more grip in the wet compared to the stock tires. There are about 12, 600 miles on the car. They're mostly highway miles driving to work and between St. Louis and Kansas City. It's never been tracked.

Evo: 2013 Car of the Year contender (Porsche 911 GT3 won) For the first few miles, its manic, furious, sometimes unruly character seems too much for most roads. It's a stiff, hyper-agile car and with plenty of torque-steer and even more lift-off oversteer, the GP is something of a shock when you first experience it. However, with time you start to revel in the sheer enthusiasm and focus of the car and admire Mini for allowing something so uncompromising to make it to the showroom.
Car & Driver: Steering response isn't immediate; it's instantaneous. And the neutral handling would shame that of many rear-wheel-drive cars.
