This 1998 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder Convertible is sharp! Equipped with a 16-valve 4-cylinder engine and a 5-speed manual transmission, this car is a BLAST to drive! It runs great, the clutch feels good, it shifts nicely, and brakes well. It gets great gas mileage too. A true driver’s car, you sit low, feel the engine rev, and let it fly! There are no check engine lights / service lights / warning lights on at all. The car has 142, 324 miles on it. Don’t let the mileage fool you – anyone who knows these cars can tell you they have a reputation of running forever!
This Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder has a newer convertible top with a glass window (not plastic)! The power convertible top switch does not work, but the power top motor does. The top can be manually raised and lowered easily (I can do it myself in seconds with no problem). The car has a good exhaust system which sounds nice and throaty without being obnoxiously loud. The exhaust, brakes, and glass are all in good condition. The low-profile tires are somewhat worn. The driver’s side power rear window doesn’t work; all the other windows operate fine. The A/C is nice and cold! The exterior door lock on the passenger door doesn’t function so you can’t work it with a key, but you can lock/unlock the door from the inside just fine. The drivers door exterior lock as well as the trunk lock can be a bit stiff, but do work. Not a big issue; I’m just trying to describe the car as accurately as possible!
This Mitsubishi is a good looking car! It boasts cool custom black rims as well as a full front, side, and rear body kit (i.e. custom front end with fog lights, side rocker panel moldings, taillight lenses, etc.) – see pics. The paint has minor imperfections: little scratches and touchups here and there, faded and worn a bit on the rear spoiler and hood, and some significant scratches on the rear bumper cover and a long scratch on the driver’s side door (see pictures). The rear bumper cover is also somewhat loose where it attaches to the car on the driver’s side, behind the rear wheel ( the plastic inner wheelwell shield that it attaches to is cracked off at the rear... EASY FIX! ) Also, the passenger side front bumper cover is cracked at the bottom and is missing the side reflector (again, see pics) The bumper covers appear to have been painted the correct color, but the paint has worn, cracked, and faded differently than the rest of the car (see pics). Also, the outer lip of the rims are showing some corrosion to the finish (NOT RUST). These cosmetic details are minor and barely noticeable from 15 feet away, and could be fixed pretty easily, making the car an absolute head turner! With the bright red paint, newer black convertible top, and the custom black rims, this car is truly stunning. Looks fast even when it’s standing still!
The dark gray leather interior complements nicely with the black dash and black door panels! The dashboard top is in good shape, with no cracks. The door panels look good as well. There are a couple of rips in the driver’s seat and the rear seat, that are currently covered with tape to prevent them from splitting further (see pics). There is also a switch or button missing from the center section of the dash. I have no idea what it was for!!! This car is equipped with a functioning anti-theft CD player with removable faceplate. Cool! The little plastic cover that goes on the toggle to adjust the rearview mirror is missing on the passenger side. Not a big deal, just trying to be honest! You can still adjust the mirror as the toggle is fully functional.
This 1998 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder convertible will make a fabulous, affordable, and FUN ride! Don’t let this one get away!
