I'm selling a very well taken care of 2006 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX MR Special Edition. I am the second owner of this car; the first owner too great care of it and I did my best to follow his example. This is the last of the 4G63 powered Evos and is probably one of the best examples, with just a hair under 59, 000 miles. Why buy a FR-S/BR-Z or plunk down 40K for an STI when you can have arguably the most capable 2.0 liter sedan available for the price of a Prius?
This car is one of the few MR SEs running around, the difference between the MR SE and a regular MR is the diamond-black BBS wheels, red stitched seats and the SE front lip. The only mod the car has ever had was an HKS Racing Suction intake which has been removed and the intake system returned to stock for the new owner. I will be including the intake with the car in case you wish to install it. Beyond that, the car is unmolested; never seen the race track (sadly?), never launched, and never drag raced.
I used it as my daily commuter for the 4 years I've owned it, so it does show some signs of being driven (rock chips and the like), but the exterior is still in excellent condition. I did a full detail on the car every 6 months (wash, clay bar, sealant, and DA wax) and it stayed inside the garage when not being driven.
I'm a trained mechanic and a diehard Mitsu fan (I had a fully built 1G DSM before the Evo) so I performed all of the maintenance myself with no expenses spared: regular oil changes every 3000 miles with Rotella T6 15w40 (outperforms Mobil 1 in nearly every metric) and Purolator PureOne filters. The brakes were changed less than 5000 miles ago with Baer slotted/drilled Decelarotors on every corner with Stoptech pads. The tires also have less than 5000 miles and are Dunlop Direzza Z-IIs in the stock size. I've already smogged the car so it's ready for sale and since there are no mods, it will not give you any problems passing smog later down the road unlike some of the other heavily modified Evos on CL.
Make no mistake, I absolutely love this car and would want nothing more than to keep it. The reason I'm selling it is that life's priorities are changing and the money from this sale would really help with a down payment on a house of my own. I want this car to go to someone who appreciates it as much as I did and will take good care of it since we never know if the Evo will ever come back into production.
I will also throw in a few extras:
HKS Racing Suction intake with upper intercooler pipe with HKS Super SQV blowoff valve with recirc tube
Covercraft Evolution full car cover, CUSTOM FIT for the Evo; from the mirrors, antenna to the rear wing, it fits like a glove.
Can of unused Diaqueen rear diff fluid
Touch up paint, primer, and clearcoat
