In November of 2014, I was heading north on Sheridan Road in Tulsa, Oklahoma. A white 2011 Dodge Journey attempted a left turn across my lane of travel.We collided corner to corner.The police came out and exchanged our insurance information, found him at fault but declined to write him a ticket because he was kin to another police officer.
When i got home and contacted his insurance company, they told me his policy had lapsed due to non-payment so they must deny the claim. My insurance was liability only. I contacted the driver, he said the insurance company is in error, he made the payment. I told him that he had 1 week to get it straightened out or I would sue himI never heard back from him. I called his insurance again, still no policy in effect. So i filed suit.
During my pre-trial research i found his was a car from a note lot, he hadn't been making payments to them either. He was on parole. Basically he was already in a world of crap.The court date came, he didn't show, i got a default judgement. I have no intention of pursuing the claim, as I feel more sorry for him than i do for myself.
In the meantime i still need to do something with the car, so i've donated it to Electronic Synergy Foundation, a non-profit electronic recycler I helped create. ESF is about to purchase (sweetheart deal) a Box Truck with a lift gate that needs some work before it's road worthy. It is hoped the sale of this car will generate enough funds to meet the truck's needs.
Anyway, enough blah blah, let's talk about the car:
THE GOOD:
It was a solid car before the accident. Everything worked, including the air conditioner, and stereo. It was close to time for an oil change and new brake pads, but other than that, I as driving it on a daily basis. It will still start and run (needs jump started as battery has drained)
THE BAD:
Front End Damage (see photos) Shifter Damage - During the accident, my hand was braced on the shifter. Now the car won't go into reverse or other gears. Battery has drained.Front Passenger Tire has gone flatDash Board Damage - the car had cracks under a dash cover when i bought it, the wreck made it much worse. I will include the dash cover.
THE UGLY:
Smoker's Car - Lots of cigarette burns on interior Damaged Tint on Passenger's rear windowMinor damage to joint between rear passenger bumper and quarter-panelInterior is in fair shape, has heavy wear in spots.
ALSO INCLUDED:
Comes with the accessories you'd expect in a car, including the jack, spare tire, and the key to the lug nuts. The title is clear, but I seem to have lost it. Due to car's age, ownership can be transferred via Notarized Bill of Sale which will be made available upon payment.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
Payment of Purchase price or $500 deposit via paypal is required no later than 3 days after auction's end. Buyer must pay in full (Paypal or cash-in-person) and take possession of vehicle no later than 8/17/2015Car is sold as-is, where is. All sales are final. Buyer is responsible for transporting this car.
